It’s a reminder that the human brain runs on about 20 watts of power—roughly what your lightbulb uses—while our current LLMs require power plants.

We're currently building for a world of API calls to massive centralized models. But the hardware and architecture breakthroughs happening right now suggest a future where high-fidelity inference happens locally, efficiently, and perhaps on architectures that look very different from the transformers we use today.
